Overview JOB SUMMARY The Cardiac Services Nurse Practitioner provides leadership for the Chest Pain Center and incorporates other departments and modalities to promote excellence in cardiac patient care. This position will lead the planning development and implementation of Chest Pain Center accreditation program including development of goals and ongoing operations. The role encompasses the coordination and oversight of the ongoing CQI process to improve care of the cardiac patient population. The NP will work under the supervision of the Director of Cardiovascular Services and the general supervision of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Medical Director to deliver stress testing to an age specific population including adults and geriatric patients. This includes confering directly with the ordering physician and responding to calls from staff regarding stress tests that are ordered. The NP will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures of San Antonio Regional Hospital as well as the regulatory guidelines and laws defined by the California Board of Registered Nurses and the California Medical Board, as well as any other federal and state regulatory agencies.
