As a Float Nurse (RN), you will: Be responsible for providing additional and/or relief coverage as indicated by staff shortage or patient status in varying patient care areas. Perform a full range of professional nursing services, including assessing, administering, and evaluating patient care, in accordance with team treatment plan. Individual must be able to identify the need for assistance/supervision and seek out appropriate resources. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with psychiatrically ill patients in order to gain their cooperation and allay apprehensions, with treatment team members in the delivery of care, and with patients and family members to provide effective health teaching (51-80% of work time).

About this Job: This is for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse position at MedStar Union Memorial, Full time nights. Unit Highlights Welcome to MedStar Union Memorial, The Heart and Vascular Institute for MedStar Baltimore. MedStar Union Memorial Emergency Department is a 50-bed unit consisting of 34 main ED beds, 12 non-urgent beds, and 4 psychiatric rooms. Union Memorial is a Primary Stroke Center, STEMI receiving, and home of the Curtis National Hand Trauma Center. The Emergency Department takes pride in their “team nursing” approach to providing safe and top-quality care to their patients. Gain great experience caring for patients of all ages, and various medical complaints. Experienced and New to Specialty are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
