About this Job: General Summary of Position Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) the Nursing Assistant Apprentice performs delegated patient care activities in consideration with the developmental needs of each patient. Working alongside an RN CNA or PCT the Youth Apprentice participates in the delivery of age-appropriate patient care in a supportive learning environment. Assists in the measurement and documentation of patients' intake and output (I&O). Accurately completes and records patient's vital signs height and weight abdominal girth head circumference pulse oximetry and other pertinent data or information in the patient's health record. Assists in performing routine sterile non-sterile (e.g. application of thermal soaks) and other treatments/activities identified by Unit/Hospital policy inclusive of but not limited to simple specimen collection (e.g. urine stool) tube feedings Foley Catheter care perineal care turning and positioning simple dressing change postmortem care and transportation of body to the morgue. Maintains the comfort privacy confidentiality and dignity of each patient in the delivery of services. Performs patient observation duty including 1:1 observation and safe application of restraints. Assists in preparing patients to be seen by providers and assists providers and RNs in patient examinations tests and procedures. Rounds on assigned patients based on established standards (e.g. hourly purposeful rounding). Reports actual and potential problems concerning patients/families including changes in the patient's condition to the RN and other care team members as necessary. Initiates emergency interventions as appropriate and assists with CPR when indicated. Responds to questions from patients families and visitors in a prompt courteous and respectful manner referring them to appropriate personnel if necessary. Consistently follows and implements established Policies and Procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintains the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms/environment by distributing and changing linen and towels removing used meal trays checking bed siderails and safety restraints etc. Assists with environmental services support such as trash removal and cleaning patient rooms as needed. Transports and/or escorts patients during discharges transfers and to/from medical appointments. As a Hospital Operations Supervisor you will: Oversees or shares oversight of hospital-wide nursing services during evening, night or weekend shifts. Reviews shift reports from preceding shifts to be apprised of activity and issues; makes rounds or collaboratively manages rounds coverage to assure the quality of nursing services on all units. About this Job: General Summary of Position The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Most of the training will be remote however you will be required to start onsite A Utilization Review (UR) Nurse is a registered nurse who bridges the gap between healthcare providers and insurance companies. They evaluate patient medical records to ensure treatments, procedures, and hospital stays are clinically necessary, cost-effective, and meet established insurance guidelines. Medical Necessity Reviews: They verify that admissions, surgeries, and treatments are medically necessary by comparing patient charts to standardized, evidence-based guidelines like Milliman Care Guidelines (MCG) or InterQual. Concurrent & Retrospective Reviews: They review ongoing hospital stays (concurrent) to authorize continuing care, and review charts after discharge (retrospective) to prevent claim denials and ensure accurate billing. Insurance Liaison: They act as a go-between, submitting clinical data to insurance companies to secure prior authorizations and ongoing approvals so the hospital gets properly reimbursed. Resource Optimization: They monitor the patient's progress to ensure they are in the appropriate level of care (e.g., observation vs. inpatient) and help coordinate discharges to lower levels of care. Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and monitor clinical documentation to provide accurate and timely MDS scheduling and completion. Partner with IDT to evaluate Quality Measures. Review completed MDS assessments for accuracy, to include utilizing MDS software to review any coding inconsistencies and opportunities, prior to locking MDS assessments. Qualifications We are looking for detail-oriented nurses who are team players, with: Active RN licensure to work in Maryland (Maryland or Compact State). 3+ years’ experience as an MDS-Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator to include ICD-10 coding experience. Progressive nursing experience preferably in a resident assessment environment. Must possess managerial and interpersonal skills. Proficient understanding of PDPM and clinical documentation requirements. Ability to build positive relationships and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team. A willingness to both learn and teach, with adaptability to make changes when needed. In-depth experience and knowledge with PDPM and CMI as related to Medicare and Medicaid service reimbursements.
