We have 24 beds on the unit. We work together with the entire interdisciplinary team (MDs, NPs, NSTs, OT/PT, Speech, SW, etc) to deliver quality care. Patient assignment varies based on acuity, Med/Surg or IMC. Provides complex care to pediatric patient/families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders Performs advanced monitoring using current technology. Manages sophisticated medication and infusion therapies Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment. Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Ambulatory Surgery Center team located in Maple Grove, MN . This is a 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two-week pay period), benefit-eligible. The Surgery Center is open Monday- Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 4:00pm. Shift start time varies based on need. Job Description: In this role, you will act as a scrub person during surgical and endoscopic procedures, providing high-quality patient care services for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric. You will work in close collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of care, while adhering to standards of clinical practice and patient safety. Serve as a scrub person during operative/endo procedures. Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and provide appropriate instruments, sutures, and specialty items. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all sterile procedures. Assist in the proper identification and handling of specimens. Ensure accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts are completed. Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations. Adjust care to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the patient population. Communicate respectfully and maintain a safe and secure environment. Engage in patient education as needed, based on an assessment of patient and caregiver learning needs.
