DEFINITION: Implement and assist with nursing care for patients under supervision of Registered Nurse. Provides care to a population including infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Functions within the scope of practice as defined by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Authorized to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, school attendance record and performance record may be considered. DEFINITION: Utilizing the nurse process, the health center nurse is accountable for delivery of patient care in the health center during office hours. The health center nurse is responsible for: meeting the established Standards of Nurse Care, managing any assigned personnel and promoting collaboration among the disciplines. The health center nurse is accountable to the Health Center Medical Director, Executive Director, patient and family for all nursing behavior. Patient population includes: all age groups to include children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. EDUCATION: Completion of a Medical Assistant program. DEFINITION: Under the direction of the Registered Nurse the surgical technologist assist in the delivery of patient care as a member of the surgical team and assumes appropriate responsibility for delivery of that care before, during and after surgery. CERTIFIED REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Certificate of graduation from a School of Surgical Technology. Certification as a Surgical Technician. DEFINITION: The Family Nurse Practitioner has special knowledge and skills in health maintenance, disease prevention, psychosocial physical assessment and management of health-illness needs in the primary care of the family. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited program of nursing. Must have successfully completed additional theoretical and clinical education through an accredited graduate level family nurse practitioner program. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Must maintain current Oklahoma licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). Must maintain current certification as a family nurse practitioner through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a family nurse practitioner is preferred but not limited required.
