We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Adult Inpatient Unit. This is a 0.6 FTE Evening/Night rotating, 8 hour shifts weekdays/12-hour shift every third weekend Night position. Candidate will be expected to float to Pediatric units. Experience caring for medically complex patients preferred. Benefit Eligible! Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Cardiovascular Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. We care for patients who have had coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, aortic arch repair and heart and lung transplant. The CVICU also handles patients with decompensated heart failure, adult congenital heart defects, cardiogenic shock, advanced pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. We apply extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VAD), intraortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Swan-Ganz catheters routinely. Our complex patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, management of organ failure, maintenance of systemic perfusion and high technical skills. This unit has a low nurse to patient ratio and resource nurses on unit. Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). We work closely with providers from several different specialties, including audiology, neurology, neurosurgery, speech language pathology, medical oncology, radiation oncology and thoracic surgery in order to provide the best care possible for our patients all under one roof. We have a dedicated team of providers and clinical staff who are experts in their subspecialties. As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. Responsibilities Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient. Follows the patient’s plan of care.
