Duties Description Are you interested in starting a career with New York State? Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse 3 Infection Control. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. Infection Control Nurses at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center are proficient in evidence-based nursing practices and function as liaisons between all departments and Infection Control Committees responsible for infection control and prevention services ensuring adherence to all infection control policies and procedures. Additional duties include: Collaborating with multi-disciplinary treatment teams to mitigate potential for infectious disease. Developing infection control risk assessment and plan along with educational programs for staff and patients. Evaluating the effectiveness of the infection control program and revising as needed. Leading annual flu prevention, treatment, and reporting. Completing of documentation and preparing comprehensive reports. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are: Licensed and currently registered as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and 2 years of post-licensure nursing experience. One year of this experience must have been primarily working in the development, implementation, or administration of an infection control program. Substitution: A master’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience A doctorate in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Possession of a current Certified in Infection Control (CIC) certificate issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology may substitute for the one year of infection control program experience. OR Candidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Additional Comments: Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($82,326), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,852), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000), and Downstate adjustment of $4,000. The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($104,230), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000) and Downstate adjustment of $4,000. Day (United States of America) Department: 100 - 604500 TG - 4 South Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Position Description: Assists in providing nursing care of patients by working cooperatively with other team members in maintaining standards of care in the clinical setting. Their frequent contact with patients assists the nurses in utilizing the nursing process. Qualifications: 1. Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF): Requires successful completion of Nurse Aide Training Program. Maintenance of certification is required. 2. RN and LPN Nursing Students: Must have completed basic nursing skills course with clinical experience within their curriculum. Post graduate LPN or RN will be eligible to work as a non licensed employee. Performing only task delegated to a non licensed nursing employee. 3. Completion of Nurse Aide Training Program or equivalent education in non licensed nursing assistant duties preferred. 
Varied (United States of America) Department: 100 - 605000 TG - 5 North - Surgery Position Description: The LPN provides nursing care for patients, cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and their patient team members in maintaining standards of care in the clinical setting utilizing the nursing process. Key Responsibilities: • Responds to emergencies and monitors patient conditions • Performs timely assessments and documents care accurately • Follows physician orders and nursing protocols • Coordinates with care team and maintains patient hygiene • Prioritizes tasks and ensures patient safety • Completes documentation and shift reports per standards Qualifications: 1.
