performs preventive skin care measures; applies simple dressings, maintaining principles of aseptic technique; applies warm and cold compresses, consistent with facility procedure; performs irrigations, consistent with Facility procedure; performs other procedures related to skin care, as necessary. 10.Administers medications correctly and safely; correctly identifies medication in terms of action, dosage, side effects, and implications for the patient; meets standard on medication administration examination; demonstrates preparation of local solutions.Administers and documents medication correctly; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions. 11.Participates in patient and family education; provides patient with an explanation of his/her condition as indicated; communicates assessment data in an orderly fashion by recording, updating and verbalizing pertinent information to care team members and to appropriate agencies; recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources /materials available for this teaching; Key Responsibilities Assist nursing leadership with oversight of daily clinical operations Supervise nursing staff and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of care Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate coverage for each shift Conduct routine rounds to evaluate resident care and staff performance Participate in regulatory surveys, inspections, and compliance initiatives Support care planning, resident assessments, and discharge coordination Oversee medication administration and treatment procedures Address staff concerns and workplace issues professionally and effectively Welcome and orient newly admitted residents and their families Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Provide direct nursing care as needed Assist with staff evaluations and performance improvement initiatives Qualifications Active, unencumbered New York RN license Minimum of 2 years of nursing home experience required Strong leadership and supervisory skills Ability to make independent clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English Why Join Staten Island Care Center?
