Provides basic patient care duties such as taking vital signs, weights, assisting patient with ambulation, dressing and undressing for examination, as directed by the provider and clinical supervisor. Assists provider in setting up for minor procedures, gathering supplies and equipment, applying aseptic dressings, opening supplies, etc. Obtains and accurately documents patient information using the rooming tool within the electronic medical record. The RN Lactation Consultant is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of an integrated lactation educational program. Coordinates and provides instruction for all medical and nursing staff. Works closely with team members such as, but not limited to, nurses, physicians, Social Services, feeding team, and other maternal infant clinicians to ensure patient educational needs are met. This union role is per diem; scheduled as needed. Hours typically fall between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Weekend coverage is also available.
