Patient Flow: Serve as the clinical leader working in collaboration with the charge nurse, bed management and medical teams, and other members of the healthcare team and ancillary services to ensure safe patient flow (in all care settings), facilitating the right patient, in the right bed or type of service, at the right time. In addition, in non-inpatient areas, serves as the clinical leader, responsible to oversee that safe patient flow is maintained and appropriate nursing and support staff are available while ensuring safety and efficiency. 1.1 Shares accountability for safe, effective, high quality care and optimal outcomes in the patient care unit/department. 2. Staffing and Effectiveness: Accountable to ensure safe staffing levels and clinical competence to provide excellent nursing care to every patient in the unit, clinic, or non-inpatient care area. 2.1 Provides direct patient care as unit/ service line requires to ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained. 3. Financial Performance: Participate in unit strategies to ensure the financial well-being of the organization and how the unit's day to day clinical operations impact the overall financial state of YNHH. 3.1 Demonstrate a solid understanding of financial forecast related to organizational mission, vision, and values and organizational strategic business plan. 4. Quality and Safety: A key leader who role models and supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes a culture of safe, high quality care on the unit/department. This will achieve superior outcomes. 4.1 Ensures unit/ area visibility by conducting regular patient, staff and leader rounding. 5. Service Excellence: Ensures the delivery of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC) at GH by working with patients and their families based on the four principles of PFCC: Participation, Dignity and Respect, Information Sharing, and Collaboration. Role Model GH Service Excellence Pledge standards creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, family/friends, physicians, staff, and support department personnel. 5.1 Identify and analyze trends in service excellence and ensure staff accountability for adherence to YNHH Service Excellence standards. Qualifications EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing major preferred. Degreed ANM must have 10 contact hours annually. Non-degreed AMN must complete 6 credit hours towards a bachelor's degree in nursing and 6 contact hours annually. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting. Progressive leadership experience desirable with proven track record of success in program development or participation, program implementation areas of clinical patient care management, staff development and specialty services materials management. LICENSURE Current CT state RN licensure and/or eligibility for CT state RN licensure required. Specialty certification preferred or willing to obtain within 18 months of hire. Is familiar with and takes proper action in meeting physical needs of resident. Routinely checks and keeps in order all residents' belongings: i.e. clothing, glasses, hearing aid, prosthesis aid, adaptive devices, etc. Ensures that residents on turning schedule is positioned every two hours or as ordered, and documented. Ensures that residents on toileting schedule are assisted as needed, and documented. Resident is kept clean and dry. Gives assistance to co-workers when needed. Uses good handwashing techniques. For more information, visit www.jobs.premisehealth.com. As a Full-Time Registered Nurse Supervisor , you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in New York, NY . The work schedule may vary within the site operating hours of 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday. A minimum of 1 year of proven clinical leadership experience is required. What You’ll Do Collaborates with Site Medical Leader to provide leadership to health center staff Assists in the recruitment and selection of staff members, including interviewing candidates and training new staff members Assesses, manages, and evaluates the performance and development of staff members Manages and monitors clinic staff schedules Oversees the nursing care of all patients Provides direct patient care < 30% of the time. Identifies emergency situations, and provides care within legal scope of practice Participates in appropriate client and Premise Health committees as requested Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records Provides direction to ensure environment is clean and safe, that infection control procedures are followed, and patient privacy is upheld Oversees ordering and maintenance of supplies, drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics, if applicable Participates in Quality Improvement, Risk Management activities and completes Premise Health occurrence reports as needed. Investigates and resolves complaints Acts as liaison between client, health center staff, Premise Health, and Director/Manager of site operations May develop, implement, and evaluate health center policies, goals, services, and programs May market health center services to the client workforce Other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associates’ degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required Current hands on certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management preferred. At least three years experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care clinic Work-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed. Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $112,800.00 - $141,000.00 annually. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
