Duties Description The Bureau of Nursing and Health Services (BNHS) in the Division of Statewide Services lends support to provider agencies across New York State. The RN 2 will work under the supervision of the RN 3 Consultant Developmental Disabilities and will be responsible for: Identify and use statewide and provider specific reportable data to identify trends in quality nursing and health care and outcomes. Develop tracking systems using available data sources to prioritize the Bureau's areas/topics of support to voluntary providers. In collaboration with the Division of Quality Improvement (DQI), track and trend voluntary provider health-related critical and significant events (CSEs) to identify trends in substandard care/performance to inform the development of educational supports with the goal of preventing recurrence. Qualifications EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must have current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire. EXPERIENCE Registered Nurse is the foundational job description for all RNs. All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program. LICENSURE Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged. SPECIAL SKILLS Registered Nurse is the foundational job description for all RNs. All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program. PHYSICAL DEMAND Requires prolonged standing; walking; use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Will be exposed to physical, mental and emotional illness as well as end of life conditions and death. Moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care. Standing/walking for more than half of the day. Frequently bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and lifting.
