Job Description We are searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our PACU - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting and provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. This applicant will provide post-operative care to pediatric patients' by paying close attention to temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, level of consciousness, blood pressure, and pain levels. Re-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient’s condition; communicates this information to other health care team members and documents in the medical record. Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical record. Assists patients/family in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriate. Assess patient family learning needs capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to teaching. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing or other degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification are required 9 months of professional nursing experience The ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, and interdisciplinary collaboration Previous NICU or ICU experience highly preferred!
