Job Description Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Oncology Physician Practice Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the multidisciplinary surgical oncology team, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the continuum of surgical cancer treatment. The RN collaborates closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care, provide education, facilitate treatment planning, and ensure exceptional clinical outcomes. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Clinical Care Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage patients in person and by telephone. Evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate interventions or escalation of care. Monitor patients before and after office-based procedures. Review laboratory, pathology, and imaging results, communicating findings and provider recommendations to patients. Coordinate preoperative and postoperative care for surgical oncology patients. Clinical Documentation Document nursing assessments, interventions, patient education, and communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain accurate medication reconciliation and allergy documentation. Process medication refills according to practice protocols. Complete disability forms, FMLA paperwork, and other clinical documentation as appropriate. Telephone Triage Assess patient concerns using evidence-based triage guidelines. Provide clinical advice within scope of practice. Escalate urgent or emergent concerns to the provider. Document all patient communications in the EMR. Quality and Compliance Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and organizational policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Summary: Pyramid Healthcare’s Hillside treatment center provides specialized detox and residential treatment specifically for men, addressing the unique challenges they face in recovery. Our detox program offers a medically-supervised environment where men can safely withdraw from substances while receiving 24/7 support from experienced professionals. This initial phase is crucial in stabilizing clients physically and emotionally, setting the stage for lasting recovery. The Nurse Practitioner provides medical and/or psychiatric evaluation, assessment, medication management, care coordination, and ongoing treatment services for individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams and internal and external healthcare providers to support high-quality, person-centered care in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and professional practice standards. Address: 420 Supreme Ct, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302 Shift: (In-Person) Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday - 12 hour shifts - 7:00am - 7:00pm or 8:00am - 8:00pm - On-Call via phone or virtually Pay: (The pay range depends on relevant experience, is a plus /FNP/CRNP) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Complete history and physical assessments, evaluations, reassessments, and other clinical documentation as required. Review laboratory results, monitor blood levels, review physician orders, and support ongoing medical and medication management needs. Provide medication management services, including psychotropic medication management where applicable based on licensure and scope of practice. Diagnose and treat medical and/or psychiatric conditions in accordance with scope of practice and applicable regulations. Coordinate client care with internal and external healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, psychiatrists, specialists, pharmacies, and other treatment providers as appropriate. Support discharge planning and continuity of care efforts, including medication coordination and aftercare recommendations. Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to support cost-effective medication management and completion of medication prior authorizations when needed. Provide education and clinical support to staff regarding medical, psychiatric, behavioral health, and medication-related concerns as appropriate. Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical review meetings, peer review processes, and departmental meetings as required. Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with CARF standards, licensing requirements, payer requirements, and organizational policies. Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information. Completion of all required trainings as designated by the company and a ccreditation/licensing entities. Required Qualifications Education, Licensure, & Experience: Active and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner/CRNP license in the state of PA (Pennsylvania) required (Must hold either an FNP + Family Practice license OR a CRNP + Family Practice license) DEA registration required or eligible to obtain if prescriptive authority applies Facilities with specific populations may prefer candidates with specialized backgrounds, including family practice, psychiatry, substance use disorder treatment, and/or co-occurring disorders Board Certification preferred Strong background in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and co-occurring disorders preferred Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
