Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Provides comprehensive experience and expertise in the overall planning, conduct and evaluation of clinical research. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Works under the Principal Investigator’s (PI) guidance to meet the research objectives of the project(s). May act as the primary liaison to the PI in developing Investigator Initiated research projects, including protocol development, preparation of amendments, development of required CRFs, study forms, and databases. Provides oversight and/or may coordinate complex or multi-site clinical research. Utilizes complex pathophysiological concepts and critical thinking in the management of clinical trials. May provide supervision to members of the research team including training of new staff; serving as a point of reference for current research staff; overseeing staff scheduling and providing performance feedback. Utilizes elements of project management to monitor ongoing financial state, patient recruitment milestones, and personnel resources necessary to conduct the research. May assist financial and grant administrators with federal and sponsor funded trials. May prepare oral and written reports and presentations and/or assist with preparation of manuscripts for publication. Provides oversight of administration of study medications and/or study interventions, as appropriate. Administers investigational products in approved settings. Educates staff nurses caring for research patients by providing necessary information about the research study including intervention and potential adverse events and required study procedures. Medical Assistant (MA)

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams in ambulatory, outpatient, clinic, or specialty care settings. The MA assists with patient intake, basic clinical procedures, documentation, scheduling, and maintaining efficient patient flow while ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist physicians and clinical staff during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures. Perform routine clinical tasks including injections, specimen collection, EKGs, point-of-care testing, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations and organizational policy. Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, verify insurance information, and assist with patient registration and discharge processes. Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and clinical supplies in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition. Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards. Educate patients regarding medications, procedures, treatment plans, and discharge instructions under the direction of licensed healthcare providers. Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff. Document patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical record system. Respond professionally to patient inquiries and assist in resolving routine patient concerns. Support overall clinic operations and maintain efficient patient flow throughout the workday. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred. Current Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent). Current BLS/CPR certification required. Minimum of one (1) year of recent Medical Assistant experience preferred. Experience with EMR systems and basic medical terminology required. Shift: 8am-2pm Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Knowledge of clinical procedures, infection control practices, and patient confidentiality requirements. Proficiency in computer systems and electronic medical records. Ability to maintain professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail while delivering patient-centered care. Work Environment This position may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting patients throughout the shift. The Medical Assistant may work in outpatient clinics, specialty practices, urgent care centers, hospitals, or other healthcare settings as assigned.
