Our mission is to minimize unnecessary wounds, hospitalizations, and the need for patient travel through early diagnosis and exceptional onsite care. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sedation/ Recovery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at a state-of-the-art Office-Based Lab (OBL) in Brooklyn, NY . The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients undergoing vascular and interventional radiology procedures, with a focus on sedation management, monitoring, and post-procedure recovery . This role is critical in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Administer and monitor moderate sedation during interventional radiology procedures. Continuously assess and document patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall status. Provide post-procedure recovery care , ensuring a smooth and safe transition from sedation to full consciousness. Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans. Collaborate with interventional radiologists and the medical team to optimize patient care. Maintain accurate documentation of sedation administration, patient responses, and recovery progress. Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, safety protocols, and infection control policies. Assist in managing emergency situations, including airway support and cardiovascular monitoring. Qualifications & Requirements: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York. Minimum 2 years of experience in recovery, sedation, PACU, ICU, or interventional radiology settings preferred. Proficiency in administering and monitoring moderate sedation . BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required . Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Knowledge of vascular procedures such as angiograms, venograms, prostate artery embolization (PAE), and genicular artery embolization (GAE) is a plus. Minimum Qualifications A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Special Note For assignments in Post-Acute Care ONLY, individuals meeting the following criteria may also be considered for appointment: Graduation from a nursing education program registered by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as licensure qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and has applied for licensure as an RN. These unlicensed individuals may be employed to practice under the immediate and personal supervision of a NYS licensed, currently registered, RN for up to 90 days immediately following graduation pending receipt of a limited permit, which selected candidates must apply for and receive within the same 90-day period. Once a limited permit is received, individuals can practice nursing, under the immediate and personal supervision of a NYS licensed, currently registered, RN at a NYC Health + Hospitals health care setting for up to one (1) year from the date of issuance of the limited permit. Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Assess and document resident progress in the medical record. Monitor turning and positioning of residents. Obtain changes in physician’s orders as indicated by resident’s progress or lack of progress Communicate pertinent information about resident condition and progress to charge nurses, supervisors and Director of Nursing, as indicated. Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock treatment supplies. Follow Infection Control policies and procedures. Administer medications and treatments accurately as ordered by the physician and according to all facility policies and procedures. Document pressure sore status weekly or more often as condition changes. Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies and equipment to be sure adequate supplies of skin care products are on hand to meet the needs of residents. Participate in educational programs for residents and their family members relative to skin care when a resident is being discharged to home. Participate in Quality Improvement activities, as assigned. Job Requirements of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Licensed Practical Nurse current state license in New York. At least one (1) year of Skilled Nursing experience preferred. Must have a current/active CPR certification. Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions. Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
