QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. • Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate. • Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family and agency personnel. • Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled. Job Details APP- NP or PA – Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) FT – varied shifts (am and pm combined shifts) Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) team in a renowned hospital in New York. This position offers an opportunity to work with critically ill patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, nurses, and respiratory therapists. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: • Patient Assessment & Management: o Perform thorough assessments of critically ill cardiothoracic patients, including history, physical exams, and ongoing evaluations. o Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab results. o Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for patients in collaboration with the attending physicians and healthcare team. o Provide continuous monitoring and management of complex cases, including post-operative recovery, ventilation support, and hemodynamic management. • Procedural Support: o When complex privileging is obtained the ability to peform central line placement, arterial line insertion, intubation/extubation, chest tube placement . o Provide post-procedure care and patient education, ensuring proper recovery and addressing potential complications. • Collaboration & Communication: o Work closely with attending cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care. o Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education and support regarding treatment plans, recovery, and discharge processes. o Attend daily rounds to discuss patient progress, concerns, and updates. • Clinical Leadership & Education: o Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, residents, and fellows, providing guidance and education on clinical practices within the CTICU. o Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical research efforts within the unit. o Stay current with advancements in critical care medicine, particularly cardiothoracic care, and engage in continuing education.
