Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the surgical service. Provide regular, concise updates to the 4 attending surgeons and collaborate effectively with hospitalists, intensivists, and nursing staff. Clinical Procedures: Perform bedside procedures as needed (e.g., wound debridement, suture/staple removal, incision and drainage, and drain management). Patient Education: Discuss surgical diagnoses, proposed procedures, and post-operative care plans with patients and their families to ensure informed consent and high satisfaction.
