Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with neurological conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians. Order, interpret, and follow up on appropriate laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals, and follow-up care. Provide patient and family education regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, medications, and community resources. Counsel patients and families on disease management, care coordination, and available support services. Perform approved clinical procedures within scope of practice and competency, including developmental and behavioral assessments such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), as applicable. Coordinate multidisciplinary care, including referrals, discharge planning, durable medical equipment (DME), prior authorizations, and other care coordination activities. Complete medical documentation, disability forms, school forms, insurance prior authorizations, FMLA paperwork, and other required clinical documentation. Document patient encounters, complete coding and billing, and submit charges in a timely manner in accordance with departmental and institutional policies. Respond to urgent clinical issues and patient concerns as appropriate. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and other clinical activities as assigned.
