The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Manger in promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective leadership on his/her assigned unit(s). The Team Leader assists the Clinical Nurse Manager in coordinating activities and schedules, disseminating information, and promoting a positive working environment for staff, physician, LIP's and ancillary departments. The Team Leader works closely with Clinical Nurse Manager to hold staff accountable for following JSMC policy/procedure, CMS standards and regulations and JC standards and regulations. Ensures supplies are adequate. 5. Cleans and restocks examination rooms for the day’s use. Reviews patient records, x-rays, and test results for the day’s visit and prepares necessary paperwork. 6. Accompanies the provider while seeing patients, when appropriate. 7. Screens telephone calls for the provider, and takes clinical messages, as appropriate. 8. Answers patient inquiries with respect to medical questions within the scope of practice and practice policy. 9. Takes calls from the pharmacist. Calls or electronically submits prescriptions and prescription refills to pharmacy as directed by the provider. 10. Coordinates diagnostic and laboratory services for patients on an outpatient basis such as PT, MRIs, Bone Scans, CTs, etc. and completes proper paperwork. 11. Assists provider in examination and surgical or diagnostic procedures and treatment, as well as preps patients. 12. Marks superbill or documents EHR for any procedures and injections performed and any supplies used. 13. Makes arrangements with proper agencies for administration of patient home health care as directed by provider. 14. Coordinates provider referrals to other providers and relays proper information about the patient. 15. Maintains all clinical equipment to include sterilizing, as applicable. Evaluates all equipment for damage or maintenance needs, and reports information to the Practice Manager. 16. Checks clinical supplies and initiates the ordering process. 17. Via electronic, paper or other forms of receipt reviews and completes clinical mail for the provider when appropriate/authorized. 18. Prepares patient insurance forms completely prior to giving to provider for review and signature.

Monitors patients' fluid loss, determines need for parenteral fluids, including plasma and blood, sets up solutions and maintains proper flow. Adjusts the administration of anesthetic agents as well as other drugs, including stimulants, to support respiratory and circulatory functions of patients. Reviews clinical chart and recommends specific type of anesthesia; general, regional, local, and IV sedation. Directly supervises and monitors the quality of anesthesia care administered by the student nurse anesthetists; assists the Chief, Anesthesia Section, in monitoring and evaluating anesthesia care provided by reserve nurse anesthetists and peers. Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting and departing to/from work. Reports all changes in residents' conditions to supervisor. Maintains cleanliness of residents' units, central bathing area, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, and linen closet. Accurately records all care as directed. Participates and attends periodic in-services and staff meetings. Understands and adheres to the guidelines of "Resident Rights". Performs additional duties as assigned. EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: . Prior experience in LTC preferred but not required. . Able to effectively communicate with residents and nursing staff. . Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program. . Good standing in the KY registry is required.
