Summary Reporting to Clinical Manager the Electrophysiology (EP) RN Coordinator coordinates all services/systems required for an organized multi-disciplinary team approach to the evaluation, treatment and follow-up of the patient in need of electrophysiology procedures, implanted devices and other new (EP) procedures. The EP RN Coordinator is responsible for program development and management maintaining patient centered care for the CVI Electrophysiology Program. Responsible for electrophysiology procedures and cardiac device clinic coordination by working with a multidisciplinary network of general cardiologists, electrophysiologists, primary care providers, and sleep and weight management teams. Responsible for coordination of cardioversion and patient medication drug load. Will assist with electrophysiology patient navigation as the liaison between patients and other health professionals communicating the plan of care and other pertinent information as needed. Participates in patient visits at the conclusion of the office visit to provide educational tools and resources related to the visit or pending procedure. Reviews and assists in managing Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS)schedules both in clinic and remote including review of wound check schedule for accuracy Assists CDS to maintain industry databases. In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, develops protocols and standards of practice for cardiac device team. Responsible for independently performing various procedures, including but not limited to Metabolic Stress Tests and Tilt Table Testing Assist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Loop Recorder implant and explant Triages patients to appropriate care resources (includes direct contact and telephone encounters) by completing a nursing assessment of patient concern, patient history and other supporting clinical information to facilitate optimum care. Reviews EP MD and APP schedules for appointment accuracy works with Office Manager as changes arise. Reviews EP MD in basket, managing tasks within the RN scope and prioritizing those items to be addressed by the EP MD. Creates educational programs for staff. Participate in, contribute to, and integrate quality improvement activities. Assists in capturing and analyzing data to assess growth and patient access. Participates in staff engagement and recognition programs. Working with the Clinical Manager, provides leadership in the development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model. Ability to complete physical assessments, identify potential clinical issues and respond swiftly and appropriately to emergent situations. Demonstrates advanced cardiac knowledge. Ability to expertly recognize and interpret arrhythmias. Participates in the education, clinical research, and mentoring of healthcare providers. Annually completes mandatory safety and infection control elearning. Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Basic Knowledge Baccalaureate in Nursing with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification not required but desirable within two years of practice. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The registered professional nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). Assesses and manages patients’ response to home dialysis training and treatment therapy by following prescribed predetermined protocols and communicates patient related issues to the physician as needed.
