Medical 2: Medical 2 is a 32 bed unit located on 8 Waldemere Tower and is a part of the six-unit Medical Surgical Division. In this position, they will watch the cardiac monitors for all patients on the unit and notify the nurse if a rhythm changes. While not in the monitor room, they will answer patients’ call lights, complete consultation calls, manage the unit phone, and assist in paperwork for the shift. This is a versatile position, where the employee is able to fulfill either position when asked. Patient Population: Patients with a primary cardiac diagnosis requiring complex nursing care including but not limited to: Continuous cardiac monitoring, Acute abnormal arrhythmias, Cardiac medication and cardiac drips management, Pre/Post cardiac procedures: Pacemaker, angiography, cardioversions, ablations, Trans Esophageal Echocardiogram, and cardiac catheterizations, Acute Heart Failure and Acute myocardial infarction Required Qualifications - Require one of the following: 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or 2.)
