Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Pre Admission Testing - Per Diem - NSG-Pre Admission Tes. In this role, the successful candidate Nurse practitioners (NP) are dedicated to providing quality, professional, cost-effective health care to all patients at NYULH - Suffolk. NPs provide services as a licensed independent practitioner (LIP) collaborating with a licensed physician fulfilling a broad range of medical services that would otherwise be provided by the physician. A NP shall be permitted to provide any service within his/her scope of training/skills outlined in the collaborative agreement between the NP and the collaborating physician that has been approved by the Credentials Committee. NPs may provide care for all patients throughout the hospital as permitted by their certification and licensure. NPs work collaboratively with the patient's physicians, assisting in providing high-quality care, and a well-planned, timely discharge. NPs provide patient-centered care as members of interdisciplinary teams emphasizing evidence-based practice and accepted standards of care. A NP shall document according to the practices included in the Clinical Documentation Initiative (CDI). NPs with Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) documentation working in surgery have the primary responsibility of assisting in surgery. A NP working in surgery must have a collaborative agreement with a surgeon. A NP working in surgery will also perform surgical functions in other areas of the hospital as needed by the surgeons or the Chief PA. A NP on the Trauma Team must have privileges to first assist in surgery, experience in emergency medicine, and current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) documentation, or acquire it within six months. A NP on the Trauma Team may be required to be on-call. Qualifications : LPN/ RN License issued by NYS Current CPR/BLS Certification issued by AHA Pediatric or School Nursing experience Required Ability to work independently in a school setting Communicate with families , school staff , and healthcare providers Responsibilities: Perform patient care duties and treatments as per care plan. Provide health promotion, counseling, and education. Administer medications and other personalized interventions. Coordinate care, in collaboration with a wide array of health care professionals. Document nursing notes regarding patient care daily. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to stand/work for extended periods Additional responsibilities as required.
