Job Overview This position is a .75 FTE (60 hours per 2 week pay period). This position works 12 hour shifts, every third weekend rotation, on the overnight shift. As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac/Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit, you will provide care to patients 18 years and older with moderate to potentially severe physiologic instability requiring frequent nursing assessment and intervention every 1 to 2 hours. We care for patients who have had coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, aortic arch repair and heart and lung transplant. The CVICU also handles patients with decompensated heart failure, adult congenital heart defects, cardiogenic shock, advanced pulmonary hypertension and cardiac arrest. We apply extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VAD), intraortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Swan-Ganz catheters routinely. This unit has a low nurse to patient ratio and resource nurses on unit. Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). Job Overview The Endoscopy RN manages the care of the adult or older patient beginning with the pre-procedure assessment, IV start, and education followed by procedural conscious sedation and monitoring, specimen collection and hands on assistance during the procedure.
