Develop expertise in the evaluation and management of diabetes and other endocrine conditions. Review continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data and make appropriate treatment recommendations. Adjust diabetes medications and insulin regimens based on clinical findings and patient needs. Support patients utilizing diabetes technology and provide ongoing education regarding disease management. Order, review and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic testing. Collaborate with physicians on complex endocrine cases and recognize when physician consultation is appropriate. Share responsibility for the clinical in-basket, including patient messages, test results, medication refills and follow-up needs. Provide clinic and hospital cross-coverage as needed.
