Overview Department: 8W Med/Surg Shift: Full-Time; Days; 7a-7:30p Facility: Saint Joseph Medical Center Location: Joliet, IL Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Coronary Care Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. It works alongside a patient's existing care and never replaces their primary care provider. The role This is an in-person contract role. We're looking for nurse practitioners in the Chicago suburbs (Joliet-Palatine) area to lead longevity days at our partner senior living communities. Each day opens with a short educational talk for residents on healthy aging, using a presentation and speaker notes we provide. You then see the residents who sign up for one-on-one longevity visits. You'll be trained and supported by our Chief Medical Officer, a board-certified geriatrician who designed the program's clinical content. Your first site day is run alongside a member of our team. Schedule Site days are on weekdays. The presentation is the fixed part of the day. The rest depends on how many residents sign up. Expect roughly 4 to 8 hours per site day, a few times a month to start, with hours growing as bookings grow. The RN-Holistic will regularly visit members in their homes, hospitals, or convalescent facilities to monitor health status and offer support during challenging times, such as bereavement.
