Give instructions to patients as instructed by doctor/nurse. Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration. Job Requirements: Completion of an accredited program that meets nationally accepted standards-certificate or degree in Medical Assisting or Medical Office Management. BLS certification If employee’s practice has issued AED, the employee is required to obtain and maintain current BLS certification. Must either have six months of experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards. Within one year from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of CCMA, CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning. More about our 7S Heart & Vascular Medical Stepdown unit: The Heart Failure/7 South consists of 28 private medical stepdown beds in a family-centered environment. In addition to caring for heart failure patients, the unit specializes in the care of patients diagnosed with MI, cardiac arrhythmias, syncope and cardiomyopathy as well as the recovery of patients following ablation, pacer placement/ICD and PTA. Medical services are offered to all types of patient populations requiring cardiac monitoring, including renal, endocrine, pulmonary, oncologic, general medicine and geriatric. Other services provided within this unit include titration of multiple intravenous medications and conscious sedation for cardioversions. In addition, a select group of nurses complete special training to provide ultrafiltration for decompensated heart failure patients and left ventricular assist device (LVAD). All nurses are ACLS certified and have completed an EKG interpretation course. This is an excellent unit for nurses interested in transitioning to an ICU setting.

Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation of patient interactions utilizing electronic platforms and according to system and departmental protocols. Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards; maintains confidentiality of information and data security. Utilizing MIDAS effectively to report system patient safety concerns. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers regarding test results, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Address patient concerns and provide support and guidance to address questions and concerns via remote platforms. Evaluate needs and escalate patient issues to appropriate team members utilizing technological avenues. Utilizing all technology platforms, collaborates with social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to address the needs of patients. Position: Regional Referral Center RN Department: Regional Referral - Logistics Facility: Cox Media Building Shift: PRN/ Varied Hours/ 8 Hours Per Pay This position consists of the responsibilities of the System Access Center Coordinator and the System Patient Logistics Nurse Coordinator. The System Access Center’s RN will be crossed trained to oversee and support all roles within the RRC Access Call Center. The Nurse’s primary focus will be on the clinical assessment and the identifying the needs of the complex transfers. The RN will provide leadership and guidance to the Access Center coordinators. The Clinical nurse can share her critical expertise and provide direction for the Access coordinators.
