The State of Vermont is currently hiring entry-level Registered Nurses within our Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital in Berlin! This position is a great opportunity for new or soon to be Registered Nurses who would like to develop a specialty in behavioral health. Additional mentoring and oversight will be given in the course of your daily work. The scope of service includes providing post-operative surgical care for patients who have undergone orthopedic joint replacements, abdominal surgery, genitourinary surgery, as well as medical management for diabetic, cardiac, gastrointestinal, trauma, neurological, and respiratory patients requiring admission. Patients may be monitored by telemetry. Progressive care patients need close monitoring and frequent assessment, but who aren't unstable enough to require ICU care. Key Responsibilities Deliver patient care and treatment plans under supervision of Charge Nurse Administer medications, perform EKGs, and assist with procedures Maintain accurate documentation in SOAP format and review medical records Respond to emergencies and ensure safety and infection control protocols Travel full-time to different healthcare facilities as staffing needs require Qualifications & Requirements EDUCATION Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing EXPERIENCE One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) within the states of practice and the state in which you work, or a valid compact state nurse license Current CPR certification We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of uniqueness.
