A MSN or DNP are not required but supersede the requirement for the BSN. Job Description Registered Nurse (RN-CN1 ONA), Night Shift 7:00p-7:30a Solid Organ Transplant UC Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Solid Organ Transplant for Night Shift (7:00p-7:30a) at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Solid Organ Transplant/Renal is 24 bed unit. (1 bed designated as a pre-op bed for those patients being called in for a transplant) UCMC performs Liver, Kidney and Pancreas transplants. The kidney program has a living donor transplant program. All transplant patients, regardless of when their transplant was performed are admitted to 8CCP. This is due to the special care and education necessary for transplant patients. Nursing care is concentrated on recovery from transplantation, focusing on mobility, monitoring of I & O's, pain management and medication administration and education. Transplant patients are always recovered and monitored in the SICU prior to coming to 8CCP. Transplant patients can also be admitted from TACU, clinic, or directly from home. Job Description Registered Nurse (RN -CN 1), Night Shift, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) ONA 2 CCP- Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (SICU) – 34-bed unit The Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit is a 34-bed unit specializing in the complex care of adult patients requiring surgical interventions. The major specialties treated in this ICU are Trauma Surgery, Transplant Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, and Oncologic Surgery. As the region’s only adult Level 1 trauma center, the SICU is always ready to receive any critical trauma patient requiring resuscitation and specialized nursing care. We have a variety of solid organ transplant recipients, including liver, kidney-pancreas, and kidney transplants. We care for complex oncologic, hepatobiliary, and general surgery patients who are referred from across the country. The majority of our patient population is in critical condition, with most patients generally stabilizing within 24-48 hours following admission. Patient care focuses on stabilizing cardio-pulmonary functioning, maintaining adequate circulatory volume and perfusion, preserving the patient’s protective mechanisms, and controlling pain. Our fast-paced SICU receives 5-8 admissions daily from the OR and ER. Most commonly seen diagnoses include but are not limited to our Rapid Response patients that have deteriorated on the medical surgical floors, Renal failure, advanced respiratory illness, GIB, alcohol withdrawal, pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, medication overdoses, end-of-life care, and mental status changes of unknown origin. Bedside procedures- bronchs, desensitization, high-risk medication initiation, and titration. Medical Step Down nurses provide care as follows but are not limited to: critical care assessments, patient education, cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, medication gtts, and trach to vent patients. This unit requires nurses to be oriented in the MICU, ACLS certified, and attend a 15-week intensive course for critical care nursing. Job Description Registered Nurse (RN -CN 1), Night Shift, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) ONA 2 CCP- Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (SICU) – 34-bed unit The Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit is a 34-bed unit specializing in the complex care of adult patients requiring surgical interventions. The major specialties treated in this ICU are Trauma Surgery, Transplant Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, and Oncologic Surgery. As the region’s only adult Level 1 trauma center, the SICU is always ready to receive any critical trauma patient requiring resuscitation and specialized nursing care. We have a variety of solid organ transplant recipients, including liver, kidney-pancreas, and kidney transplants. We care for complex oncologic, hepatobiliary, and general surgery patients who are referred from across the country. The majority of our patient population is in critical condition, with most patients generally stabilizing within 24-48 hours following admission. Patient care focuses on stabilizing cardio-pulmonary functioning, maintaining adequate circulatory volume and perfusion, preserving the patient’s protective mechanisms, and controlling pain. Our fast-paced SICU receives 5-8 admissions daily from the OR and ER.
