This is a benefited, full-time Medical Assistant position in the Pediatrics Department at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This role requires performing both front office and back office Medical Assistant duties. Why join Scripps Health? Job Duties This is position is a hybrid Medical Assistant/Patient Services Rep (PSR) role, splitting time between back- and front-office duties Administering vaccines to infants through adolescents Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics Required Qualifications Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualifications 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant Pediatrics experience Experience with vaccine administration At Scripps Health, you will experience the pride, support and respect of an organization that has been repeatedly recognized as one of the nation’s Top 100 Places to Work.
