Handles all emergencies which may occur. Collaborates with other department staff to meet the total needs of residents. Completes documentation assigned for compliance with all New York State Safety and Infection Control Codes. Participates in the Performance Improvement Plan through completion of audits and developing/implementing corrective actions. Establishes PAR levels for supplies and sees that supplies are obtained and updated as needed. May initiate admission assessment on new residents, re-admits, hospital returns and initial care plan. May gather information related to resident initial assessment and discharge planning. Works well with interdisciplinary team, residents, and family members to ensure the highest quality of resident care. Assists new nursing staff in orientation and unit teaching. Demonstrates proficiency in use of the following equipment to include but not limited to: blood pressure cuff, feeding pumps, ear thermometer, suction machine, glucometer, weight scales, fire extinguisher, call bell system, oxygen concentrator/tank, and hoyer lift.
