Job Overview The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and Patient Navigator (PN) is an integrated clinical and care-coordination role within the General Obstetrics and Gynecology division. The APN provides comprehensive, evidence-based care across the spectrum of preventive, gynecologic, and obstetric services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, procedures within scope, and prescriptive management in accordance with New Jersey Board of Nursing regulations and Rutgers Health policies. The PN function streamlines access and continuity of care by coordinating appointments, authorizations, testing, referrals, and transitions of care; advancing health literacy; addressing barriers and social determinants of health; and serving as the liaison among patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
