Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse. Educate patients on surgical procedures• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays. Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients. Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs• Participate in discharge planning. Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms. What you need: Willingness to make a difference! Virginia Beach Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center has an exciting opportunity for a Unit Manager, RN in our 180-bed skilled rehab center in Virginia Beach. The Unit Manager will oversee clinical operations of the unit and is responsible for staff supervision of nurses and CNAs, as well as interfacing with physicians, QI reporting and follow-up, and providing clinical expertise to staff as needed. This unit provides care for our most clinically acute patients and residents. Typical hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekend and on-call duties.
