Responsibilities Essential Functions • Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment and demonstrated competency through Orlando Health. • Performs advanced skills after achieving demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal; wound irrigation; complex dressing change; maintenance of enteral tube feeding (Dobhoff, Nasogastric, and Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy); and tracheostomy care. • Performs increased or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients as assigned and utilizes the Safe Patient Room Environment Checklist during staff changes or transfer of care for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients. • Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs. • Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team. • Ensures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality. • Follows standard precautions. Adheres to Hand Hygiene and PPE procedures. • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the registered nurse (RN) and other members of the healthcare team. • Participates in handoff report and conducts purposeful hourly rounding on patients. • Documents information according to Orlando Health specific policies and guidelines. • Transports and assists patients through the admission and discharge process. Also transports Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients to diagnostic testing and procedures. • Maintains a safe and clean environment. • Provides exceptional service and care to all patients, families, customers, and team members. • Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products, and medications (excluding substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility. • May have limited access to areas storing medications. • Receives and processes incoming calls, patient calls, and guest requests. Qualifications Education/Training • Enrolled in an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and preparing to enter the final two semesters or quarter of the appliable nursing program. • Completed Senior Nurse Intern competencies. Licensure/Certification Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. Experience None, must be in your 3rd semester of Nursing School to qualify. 
Position Summary A Brief Overview The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is responsible for leading the shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. In conjunction with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM); the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and is responsible for the unit's clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes in settings where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient's medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills. Manages staffing assignments for oncoming and off going shifts, based on patient acuity and skill set of team members to ensure patient care needs are met. Monitors overall status of patients within area of responsibility and closely monitors status of seriously ill patients. The Certified Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. They prepare patients during office visits and assist patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit. This is a PRN position within our float pool and will require travel to clinics within the local region on an as-needed basis. Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients. Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures. Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint. Measure, record, and document vital signs. Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider. Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures. Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers. Represent the office in a professional manner. At least one year of recent experience working in OBGYN is required. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable. Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions. Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally. Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
