Qualifications Required: ADN Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Minimum 1 year RN experience in a radiology, procedural, or acute care setting. Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient computer Skills Excellent customer service skills Preferred BSN Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Certifications And Licenses Required Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS IV Therapy/Venipuncture certification is required within 90 days. PICC insertion certification within 90 days of hire. Vascular access competency (PIV, midline, PICC) strongly preferred. Completion of all Orientation Programs at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Scheduling Requirements Day Shift 10-hour shift Full Time Essential Functions The Radiology IV Access RN organizes and administers individualized, age-specific nursing care across Radiology and Imaging Services, with a primary focus on IV Access. This role practices in accordance with the NJ Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center policies. It ensures clinical quality, throughput optimization, IV Access Team oversight, scheduling coordination, billing integrity, and performance improvement. Insert and manage IVs, midlines, and PICCs per competency. Monitor for complications and respond appropriately. Maintain sterile technique and TIME OUT compliance. Ensure emergency equipment readiness. Review post-PICC chest x-rays per policy. Educate patients and families regarding procedures. IV Access Team Oversee daily IV Access workflow and prioritization. Validate appropriateness of line selection. Ensure accurate EMR documentation and billing. Support staff orientation and competency validation. Operational & Throughput Responsibilities Maintain billing reconciliation and work queue oversight. Participate in safety huddles and leadership initiatives. Delegate responsibilities based on competency. Quality & Performance Improvement Participate in departmental CQI initiatives. Support regulatory readiness and compliance. Assist with service line growth initiatives.
