Obtains verbal report from the patient’s nurse to include information regarding the patient’s identified care needs, reason for observation, visual, auditory, or language barriers as well as any special considerations such as bed alarms, and speaker checks. Immediately reports defective equipment failure to Charge Nurse and begins downtime procedure. Documents observations and disperses team communication in an appropriate and timely manner.
