We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medication Technician to safely administer medications and provide quality care to residents in an assisted living and/or memory care community. Position Summary The Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications as permitted by state regulations, maintaining accurate records, monitoring resident well-being, and assisting with daily care needs. Complete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift. Resident Care Observe and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional condition. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including: Personal hygiene and grooming Bathing and dressing Ambulation and transfers Toileting and incontinence care Dining assistance and hydration support Respond promptly to resident requests and emergency call systems. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment. Communication & Documentation Communicate resident updates and concerns during shift handoff. Maintain accurate and timely resident documentation. Collaborate professionally with nurses, physicians, hospice providers, home health agencies, laboratories, and family members. Community Engagement Encourage resident participation in social, recreational, and wellness activities. Assist with group and one-on-one activities to promote engagement and quality of life. Compliance & Safety Follow all infection control, safety, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance procedures. Report incidents, accidents, concerns, suspected abuse, or policy violations immediately. Attend required training sessions, meetings, and continuing education programs. Qualifications Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Administration course or certification required. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Must be at least 18 years old. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or Certified Medication Aide. Experience working with older adults.
