Position Overview Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager, the ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients in a high-acuity intensive care environment. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking and evidence-based interventions. Administer medications, blood products, and specialized therapies in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment and technologies. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care. Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities. Serve as Charge Nurse and provide leadership support when assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
