Overview About the Role Participates as an essential member of the healthcare team by providing clinical lactation therapy for patients. Provides education and consultative services related to breastfeeding. Serves as a resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in order to promote optimal patient care. Designs and provides patient and staff education programs. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Initiates and receives referrals from physicians, nursing staff, and patients. Develops, implements, and evaluates an educational plan for patients requiring lactation services. Assesses the educational needs of the breastfeeding mother and family. Identifies an individual plan to meet the breastfeeding mother’s needs. Assures that lactation services are provided in a timely manner. Provides direct patient care lactation service to patients. Performs in-patient consultations at the bedside and out-patient consultations, as necessary. Provides individual teaching and group classes to breastfeeding patients and families. Documents Breastfeeding Education and related Patient Assessment. Records teaching and progress on appropriate documentation. Submits accurate and timely documentation of billable services. Educates, guides, assists, and serves as a resource to nursing staff, other members of the healthcare team and community who provide care to breastfeeding mothers. Develops teaching plans and curriculum for patient education programs on breastfeeding. Assists with educational programs and consultation/support for the nursing staff. Assists in the development and/or review of all literature related to infant feeding that is distributed to patients in the hospital. Confers regularly, when appropriate, with the relevant obstetrician, pediatrician, and nursing staff member on each patient’s special needs and progress in breastfeeding. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree required. Currently Certified as a Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. At least one (1) year of work or volunteer related lactation education counseling experience required. Requires skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Basic computer knowledge and ability to use audiovisual equipment required. Fluency in additional languages preferred. The OR Technician II performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related operating room activities. The OR Technician II delivers care as reflected in the Association of Surgical Technologists’ Recommended Standards of Practice in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality of care. The OR Technician II possesses knowledge of the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The OR Technician II demonstrates competency to scrub for minor/major surgical and endoscopic surgical procedures. An Operating Room technician II is a non-certified technician. Must work in air-conditioned environment with temperature of 65-73 degrees and humidity of 45-55%. When assigned to pediatric cases, temperature may be up to 85-90 degrees F. Must wear hospital provided scrub attire while on duty. Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains and exposure to contagious disease via and body fluids. Potential for exposure to anesthesia waste gases, ethylene oxide, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, high steam pressure agents and radiation. Willingness to work with employees at various levels of skill, knowledge, and abilities.

Under the direction of the RN, the Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA) performs the activities related to the implementation of nursing care plans and the nursing standards, policies and procedures. The PNA is responsible for contributing to the development, evaluation and reassessment of care plans through observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and physical status. The PNA is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the safe and therapeutic environment of the unit. The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 19 - 64) and geriatric (ages 65 +). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health Care Center. Competencies: Supervises or assists in after meal care (removing trays, encouraging patients in brushing teeth, washing up, etc.). Serves food trays. Assists with feeding as indicated. Assists patients in preparing for activity and social programs, as per unit program schedules. Answers call bells promptly. Changes bed linens. Assists or supervises patients to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed. Reports all changes in the patient's condition to the Charge/Staff Nurse as soon as practical. Keeps floors dry. Reports spills immediately. Maintains intake and output records as instructed. Greets and escorts patient to his/her room. Informs the Charge/Staff Nurse of equipment and supply needs. Records all supplies and equipment utilized for appropriate procedures to Charge/Staff Nurse. Assists in transporting patients to/from appointments, activities and social programs, etc. as necessary/assigned. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient care information. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to skillfully administer total patient care in accordance with Emergency Nursing Standards of Practice, provides leadership and clinical expertise in the assessing, planning and delivery of emergency care. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist (Certified Registered) position is to administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence; (3) post-anesthesia care; and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a Master’s Degree in a related field; or graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education programs prior to January 1998 is required. Candidate must have sufficient sensory capacity to observe the patient and patient monitors. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both academic and health care settings. Must show evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams and possess demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, and effectively function in the face of uncertainties inherent in clinical practice.
