Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Critical Care Transport) position is to provide and direct the critical care treatment and transport of patients in the hospital setting to the most appropriate facility. Provides pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ALS) and hospital patient care. As a member of the patient care team, under the direction of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and under the supervision of the Chief Flight Nurse and EMS Coordinator, the Staff Nurse will treat patients of all ages and from all populations who experience serious illness or injury, using age and population appropriate equipment and techniques to safely assess, treat, lift, move and transport patients to an appropriate medical facility, while completing all required documentation and other assigned duties supporting efficient EMS operations and representing University Hospital and EMS in a positive and professional manner. Overview The Observation Unit is specialized and designed for efficient, ongoing medical treatment, assessment, and reassessment of patients before the appropriate decision can be made to either discharge or admit. You will care for a wide variety of patients with chest pain, A-fib, cellulitis, syncope, asthma, and congestive heart failure, trauma, musculoskeletal pain, stroke and TIA, among other diagnosis. This is a fast paced service. Patients have a short length of stay and the unit admits and discharges patients 24/7. Overview About the Role The Oncology RN Clinical Care Coordinator (OCC) works collaboratively with an oncologist in delivering care to their assigned patient population.
