Overview Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the LPN performs nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients on an assigned unit. The duties require the use of tact and judgment in the care and treatment of patients. May assist in the supervision of non-professional subordinates. Is cognizant of philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Nursing Department. Performs related duties as required. Responsibilities Demonstrates proficient knowledge in the treatment of patients requiring nursing care. Uses available diagnostic results and other information to make an accurate evaluation. Bases care decisions on resident needs and care priorities. Monitors patient outcomes. Monitor continued care needs for discharge and coordinates resources to meet post-institutional requirement. Collaborate, as appropriate, with Care Manager, physician, and other clinical disciplines in planning interventions to meet resident and family needs in a timely manner. Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing or completion of equivalent study in an approved program in professional nursing. Experience: Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Operating Room Technician II position is to be under the direct supervision of the professional nurse. The OR Technician II performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related operating room activities. The OR Technician II delivers care as reflected in the Association of Surgical Technologists’ Recommended Standards of Practice in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality of care. The OR Technician II possesses knowledge of the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The OR Technician II demonstrates competency to scrub for minor/major surgical and endoscopic surgical procedures. An Operating Room technician II is a non-certified technician. The OR Technician II participates in departmental quality assessment and improvement activities, meets hospital continuing education and certification requirements, participates in student teaching activities, upholds Patient Care Services philosophy and objectives, demonstrates knowledge of Association of Surgical Technologists’ Recommended Standards of Practice, AORN’s Age Specific Competency Statements and demonstrates professional growth and development. Measurement of performance behavior is “as observed by Nurse Manager and/or Educational Specialist according to OR policy and procedure” unless otherwise indicated. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Program. Certified as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent required. AHA CPR required. Three (3) years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care or Medical/Surgical required. One (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, Adult or Familypreferred. Demonstrates effective leadership competencies to be carried out in the day‐to‐day activities of the department. BLS (CPR) and ACLS required. Computer literacy required Qualifications Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey; BLS (CPR); ACLS
