Job Description Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to support various procedures. Monitors patients, administers medications, EMR , consults with healthcare providers, educates patients. Job Function: 01. Clinical Skills and Assessment. Maintains accurate documentation of any changes in the patient's status and of any interventions taken. Provides complete charting of patient's procedure and charge documentation to help ensure accurate billing. Completes post case data sheet completely and legibly. Job Function: 03. Educational Requirements and Mentoring. Fulfills mandatory education obligations. Maintains BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth. Attends pertinent educational offerings and staff meetings to keep abreast of changes within the unit and hospital. Actively pursues professional growth and development by taking the initiative to obtain information on new equipment and technology. Assists in the orientation and education of new staff members as to proper use of equipment and department policies and procedures. Acts as a role model for other team members. Job Function: 04. Patient Satisfaction. Consistently responds to patients/families in a professional, courteous, positive manner. Promotes an environment where the patient and family is our primary concern and the patient care team works cooperatively toward the patient's goal and objectives. Helps to maintain all equipment and recognizes and reports any malfunctions or potential problems to the supervisor. Job Function: 06. Collaboration. Acts as a patient advocate and assures that a patients’ rights are respected, identifies the needs of the patient/family on admission and communicates them to the physician, social worker and/or case manager. Duties Description Independently performs the duties below: Conducts nursing assessments; and obtains, records, and updates individuals’ health information and vital signs, using standard instruments and procedures. Job Description Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary. Exhibits knowledge of and consistently maintains SGNA standards of practice. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions- actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in meeting the unit's staffing needs. Clinically practice consistently and effectively with the goal of improving patient satisfaction. The department is open Monday – Friday 630am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 7 am-4 pm, with an on-call team available any time the department is closed for emergencies. Principal Accountabilities Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Records patient vital signs and medical information. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required QUALIFICATIONS Current NJ RN license BLS Must be able to push/pull/lift to 35lbs. Job Description 01: Develops an action plan and coordinates new employee orientation in conjunction with the Nursing Education department. Develops mechanisms for documentation of initial competencies achieved and sets individualized time frames for accomplishment. Provides orientation goals and strategies to orientee and preceptor. Acts as a resource in providing theory and supervised practice during training and orientation of all new staff. Utilizes adult learning theories to implement action plan strategies. Participates in the assessment of permanent and temporary employees. Develops and facilitates clinical orientation of all new hires with the development of goals and resolution of performance problems with collaboration from service line coordinators when applicable. Mentors and monitors progress of new employees in theory and supervised practice in response to selected development needs. 02: Provides ongoing development/continuing education. Collaborates with manager, ANM, peers, and coordinators to establish initial and ongoing developmental mandatories and competencies. Assists with problem solving and development of action plans to meet developmental objectives. Facilitates attainment of objectives for all new hires and current staff. Develops and implements educational programs to reflect the unique needs of the nursing division and other departments as needed. Initiates evidence-based programs for the development of clinical skills and ensure strategies are in accordance with clinical practice standards. Integral participant along with management and staff in the selection, and/or implementation of new products, policies, procedures and /or issues related to professional associations and regulatory agencies. Responsible for the coordination and implementation of education for the above. 03: Completes 3-month probationary evaluations in an appropriate time frame. Ability to recognize and facilitate the extension of probation if needed.
