As a PRN Registered Nurse, Occupational Health , you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care to client employees at our onsite health center in Rockford, IL . This PRN opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN seeking a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact in an occupational health setting. You'll provide coverage for vacations, planned time off, wellness events, and other staffing needs, working alongside a collaborative team to deliver exceptional care. The health center is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM , with PRN shifts scheduled as needed during those hours. What You’ll Do Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.) Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision) Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives Performs other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams Work-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed. Complete required assessments upon the customer’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form and P.O.S. Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Take and record TPR’s, blood pressures, accuchecks, etc., as necessary. Contact the customer’s physician for: Nursing assessment of change of condition. Medication orders or charges.
