Certified Nursing Assistant - Full Time Day, Evening & Night Shifts

Ensure that assigned residents are appropriately prepared for school, clinic, recreation and hospital visits as scheduled and accompany/transport them as assigned. Ensure that bedfast residents are repositioned as directed by NCC but not less than two repositions per resident hourly. Performs restorative and rehabilitative activities as instructed and as directed by Plan of Care. Assists in applying safety restraints to residents when directed; Monitors residents in restraints, release restraints and documents according to policy and procedure Ensures that each resident who can use a call bell has one within reach and remind him/her to use it. Assists co-workers with lifting, positioning and other procedures as necessary. Be aware of facility policy on child abuse and/or neglect and promptly report any instances of abusive or inappropriate behaviors towards any resident to the NCC. RN Supervisor - Per Diem Night (only)

Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY To ensure in collaboration with the Nurse Manager that each neighborhood provide safe, appropriate and goal-directed care and to provide support and direct nursing staff. To be familiar with all policies and procedures. Be able to seek appropriate guidance as needed. Work in collaboration with medical doctors in emergent situations and support and promote family centered care and maintain effective communication with family members. The RN Supervisor will be responsible for working an on-site schedule of a 3-4 days/week including weekends. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills in change management, emotional intelligence and demonstrated leadership experience in a residential or behavioral health setting. The RN Supervisor will be included in a Nursing Leadership weekend rotation to ensure continuity of systems and protocols are maintained through the entire week. Demonstrated competency in performing venipuncture/administering shots for collection of blood specimens and facilitates the prompt and accurate processing and distribution of specimens collected. Ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate care within the delivery system and facilitates internal and external referrals in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN). Accurately performs and records vital signs, weight and height, point of service blood glucose testing, and promptly reports abnormalities to the medical provider or Registered Nurse (RN) on duty. Utilizes appropriate techniques when collecting routine urine specimens and specimens for C/S. Appropriately instructs patients on clean catch specimens. Utilizes appropriate technique in performing venipuncture to obtain blood specimens in accordance with agency procedure. Verbalizes knowledge of and adherence to OSHA standards for blood borne pathogens when handling blood and body fluids. Maintains standard precautions in the provision of patient care. Maintains and monitors stock inventory in the treatment center and replenishes supplies in exam rooms on a timely basis. Prepares and processes requisitions for routine supplies in accordance with agency procedures. Monitors the integrity of equipment and promptly reports malfunction, missing or damaged equipment to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Office Manager. Demonstrates competency in answering phones, patient registration, making appointments, computer data entry and retrieval of reports. Copies, prepares records, and stores and maintains appropriate records. Keeps records of all laboratory work sent, files laboratory reports on client record, and prepares and processes Lab/Diagnostic requisitions. Conforms to policies and regulations governing patient rights and confidentiality of information. Adheres to protocol for patient flow (1. Reception, 2. Registration, 3. Labs, 4. Escort to Provider). Perform all other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Required Education & Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Currently registered in New York State as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
