Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc. Acts as a backup for other medical assistants and schedulers as needed. Maintains patient files, records and other information. Acts as preceptor and provides input to performance appraisals of Medical Assistants Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing. Requires a minimum of five years experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state. Current CPR certification required.
