Department Overview Our neonatal program is the largest in the Midwest. We provide the full scope of care for infants needing intensive care. At the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children’s Minnesota St. Paul Campus, our inter-disciplinary team of over 500 professionals is dedicated to the care of babies born prematurely, those with birth defects, genetic disorders, medical disorders and any baby needing surgery. We care for babies requiring complex care, including hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, and maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure. We are a part of the Mother Baby Center in St. Paul at United Hospital which includes high-risk delivery services. The Children’s St. Paul NICU is a 62-bed unit providing level 2 and level 3 neonatal care, which allows for continuity of care from admission to discharge. Our team balances a highly technical skill set with a family-centered approach. We care for patients along the continuum of acute recovery to provide for their changing physical and emotional needs as we prepare them to return home. Position Summary The Vascular Access Registered Nurse provides expert peripheral intravenous (PIV), PICC line placements and other vascular access related tasks. This includes developing (as needed) and maintaining clinical expertise in the placement of PICC lines, teaching and mentoring RN's on the floors about basic IV care such as the use of safety catheters, being a clinical expert resource for the organization in vascular access issues and working closely with the staff to improve organizational access, flow and customer experience and assisting in the development of this new program. * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. * Current MN nursing license. * BLS certification. * Current 2-3 years of pediatric nursing experience. * Current 2 years expertise in vascular access with children. * Competent in assessment and treatment of VAD sites for all complications. * Proficiency in ultrasound guided PIV placement, 1 year experience required. * Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement experience in children required * VA-BC certification preferred. * An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position. Description St. Croix Health is currently seeking a part-time (0.60 FTE) Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg team. This position will work day shifts (7am – 7:30 pm), every third weekend and holiday. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) partners with the registered nurse and performs work as delegated to support in the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care. The CNA assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and mobility. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA supports clinical care by monitoring vital signs, assisting with basic medical procedures, and accurately reporting changes in patient condition or behavior. The CNA plays a key role in promoting patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being within the scope of their practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Patient Care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assist patients with ADLs (e.g., bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility) to promote comfort and dignity. Reposition or transfer patients safely to enhance mobility and prevent skin breakdown. Respond promptly to call lights and requests, assessing and addressing patient needs. Provide direct assistance with eating and drinking, ensuring patient dietary restrictions and preferences are followed. Safely assist in lifting, transferring, or repositioning patients using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury. Clinical Support and Communication Monitor and document vital signs using approved equipment, reporting deviations to the RN immediately. Environmental Safety and Unit Support Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms and common areas. Change soiled linens, empty commodes or bedpans, and restock personal care supplies in patient rooms at least once per shift. Complete unit cleanliness and supply checklist daily; submit work order for maintenance issues. Stock and organize medical supplies to ensure availability and promote efficiency. Uphold infection control standards consistently, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and surface cleaning. Emotional Support and Patient Interaction Provide empathetic, patient-centered care by engaging in positive communication and responding to requests in a timely, respectful manner. Identify and support the emotional and social needs of patients through active listening, conversation, and reporting of concerns to primary RN. In addition, they are available for telephone consultation 24/7 for child protection, law enforcement agencies, physicians, therapists, attorneys, and concerned parent. They offer training, internships, and fellowhips for physicians, advanced practice nurses, and professionals interested in expanding their knowledge and skill in medical evaluation, interviewing children, psychological assessment, and treating abused children. Position Summary This position provides specialized medical consultation, evaluation, and care for children and adolescents with concerns related to child maltreatment. Key responsibilities include: * Providing phone consultation and triage for caregivers, medical providers, and community professionals. * Conducting medical evaluations, including video-recorded histories, for suspected victims of child maltreatment. * Collecting physical evidence in acute cases of sexual assault or abuse involving children and adolescents. * Providing medical evaluations and ongoing care for adolescents in youth shelter settings. * Coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. * Occasionally providing testimony in legal proceedings. Schedule and Work Location This is a 0.9 FTE position with day hours. The role is primarily based in the MCRC outpatient clinic in St. Paul. On-Call Coverage and Travel The position includes on-call coverage during nights, weekends, and holidays. Description This is a 0.8 FTE working with our Specialty Teams. There are currently no evening, weekend or holiday requirements, but this could change with business needs. This person will work primarily at our St. Croix Falls location but could be asked to travel to all community clinics. Hours are generally Monday - Friday 740-5p with a varying day off. Flexibility is greatly appreciated. The Clinician Technician (CMA/LPN) is responsible for planning and managing patient care according to patient need. Responsibilities also include rooming and interviewing patients, recording medical history and physical condition information including taking and recording patient vital signs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of provider and following SCH policies and processes Room patients Assist providers with procedures, examinations or treatments Monitor patient condition during treatments, procedures or activities Cleans medical equipment or instruments Record patient medical histories Prepare medical supplies or equipment for use Collect specimens from patients and prepare for testing Complete appropriate documentation in EMR Provide approved patient education.
