A Brief Overview Ahuja 5 th floor is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit, in which all beds have cardiac monitoring capability. It is comprised of all private rooms. Our patients range from 18 years old to 100+. On the 5 th floor, an interdisciplinary approach is used to provide safe, patient/centered quality care to those we care for, assisting in returning the patient to his or her optimal potential. The unit is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, RN’s, LPN’s, PCA’s and Clerical Associates. We work along-side the hospitalist team, community providers as well as many of the hospitals Nurse Practitioners and Physicians assistants. We also have a night shift nurse practitioner and surgical app on most evening shifts. We work well with other hospital departments to provide the best possible care to our patients. A Brief Overview Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. What You Will Do Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing. Completes/submits required documentation. Delivers effective relationship based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
