About the position: We are a dedicated psychiatric emergency room, the environment on our unit is fast-paced and never the same on any given day. We care for adult patients ranging in age from 18 and over who are being treated for any behavioral health crisis need. Our unit is unique because we are also responsible for all ages and patients admitted to Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH) from a multitude of referral sources. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. We care for adult patients 18 and older who are being treated for various medical diagnoses. These diagnoses cover a wide range of disease processes, including pulmonary, renal, hepatology, endocrine, and post-procedural patients.
