Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) Staff Nurse is to safely move patients requiring PCU or ICU level of care within the University Hospital and Rutgers campus. The CCTT RN prioritizes transport requests based on acuity and workload logistics. The CCTT RN will utilize the Acuity Checklist for Critical Care Transport form to determine who will accompany the patient during transport and what equipment will be needed. The CCTT RN will require a thorough and complete SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation) report, in person, from the primary care PCU/ICU RN managing the patient. The CCTT RN will complete their tasks with compassionate consideration of the patient’s requests and those of their family. The CCTT RN will utilize the Inter Transport Patient Data Form to chart the appropriate data as it applies to the individual patient’s circumstances. The CCTT Nurse takes immediate action in emergency situations and responds to patient needs during transport. Upon arrival, the CCTT RN will give a complete and thorough SBAR report to the receiving RN and will assist in the safe transfer of care. Staff Nurse, Emergency Department - Per Diem

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to skillfully administer total patient care in accordance with Emergency Nursing Standards of Practice, provides leadership and clinical expertise in the assessing, planning and delivery of emergency care. Provides specialized primary nursing care for acutely ill and injured trauma cases in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Critical Care or Medical/Surgical experience preferred. BLS required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in basic life support (BLS). ACLS and PALS required within twelve (12) months of employment and must maintained throughout employment. Phlebotomy Certification or IV Certification is required. Proficiency in the English language is required. BSN preferred. Successful completion of a Progressive Care Course or Progressive Care Certification preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word. Ability to employ problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to organize care/activities of multiple patients.

Staff Nurse - Infusion Center

$46.46 - $63.82 / hour

Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Infusion Center) position is to administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards. The Staff Nurse will utilize knowledge of chemotherapy and/or radiation oncology procedures to assess, screen, evaluate, educate, and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards to adult patients who are under the care of the Outpatient Oncology Services team. The role of the RN includes practice/office support. Always demonstrates team approaches and flexibility by rotation between Oncology Service Departments as required. Shows a working knowledge of UH, Joint Commission & DOH regulations. Participates in evidence based nursing and related QA and PI endeavors. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care based on the individualized needs of patients and their families while adhering to professional nursing standards. Assesses, screens, evaluates, educates, and coordinates care for adult oncology patients receiving treatment through Outpatient Oncology Services. Applies specialized knowledge of chemotherapy and radiation oncology treatments to support safe and effective patient care. Delivers care management and outcome management services to promote positive patient outcomes and continuity of care. Supports daily clinical and office operations within the oncology practice setting. Demonstrates a collaborative team-oriented approach and flexibility by rotating among Oncology Service departments as needed. Maintains knowledge of and compliance with University Hospital (UH), Joint Commission, and Department of Health (DOH) regulations and standards. Participates in evidence-based nursing practice initiatives, quality assurance (QA) activities, and performance improvement (PI) programs to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes. Promotes excellence in patient care through effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare professionals required. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time hospital nursing experience preferred. Oncology nursing experience preferred. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Provider Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate required. IV/Venous Access Device Certification required. Required certifications must be obtained within the first ninety (90) days of employment if not already held and maintained throughout employment. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred. Must be able to work predetermined flexible hours.
