About this Job: Unit Highlights Join the exceptional Beacon Award Winning Nursing team on MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Solid Organ Transplant & Hepatology Intermediate Care Unit (S42) in the recently opened Verstandig Pavilion, situated on Georgetown University's campus. The cutting-edge Verstandig Pavilion is equipped with all-private inpatient rooms and state-of-the-art medical equipment, ensuring an environment that prioritizes excellence in patient care. The Transplant IMC shares a floor with its own Surgical Transplant Intensive Care Unit (ICU), promoting seamless patient throughput between different acuities. This 28-bed unit has been recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) with a BEACON Award for Excellence through 2026. Clinical Nurses on S42 provide expert care to acutely ill adults that are waiting for or have recently received a solid organ transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas, intestine) or have undergone other hepatobiliary surgeries (TACE, liver resection, Whipple).
