26005616 Certified Medical Assistant/CMA – Digestive Specialists – Full-Time, Days Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Sign-On for Eligible New Hires** Work location: 6124 West Parker Road MOB 3 - Suite 336 Plano, TX 75093 Work hours: Full-time; 40 hours weekly; Monday - Friday (8:30am – 5:30pm) Digestive Specialists Department Highlights Strong teamwork and collaboration Fast-paced, high-volume clinic Compassion and empathy to our patients and the Team Join an innovative team working towards making healthcare more accessible, integrated, and reliable Here’s What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED) CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification Upon Hire (REQUIRED) 1 year Medical Assistant experience (PREFERRED) Will consider a new CMA that has completed an Externship ACLS or BCLS (PREFERRED) Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injections Basic computer skills using medical management application systems Effectively communicate with staff and patients Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations Demonstrate sound judgement in emergency situations Take appropriate action in urgent circumstances Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patients Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process and performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures. Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider and obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem. Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician. Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required and provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
